The Reach DTS is a unique and exciting school that focuses on reaching the least, the last, and the lost. It’s about taking the gospel to the nations and sharing God’s heart of mercy and justice. This school is a rugged adventure that will take you to the ends of the earth and go the extra mile to reach those unreached by the gospel, mercy and justice. It is not for the faint of heart. Our DTS has different outreach teams that will travel at the same time to different places with special focuses.
Our base is situated, right at one of the beautiful beaches of Southern Norway, popular for all-year-round water activities. During lecture phase, you will have time to explore the beautiful nature Norway has to offer. You can find the well known Pulpit Rock just an hour drive away.

What is A DTS?
The Discipleship Training School (YWAM DTS) seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.
The course is a full-time program that lasts five to nine months and is the prerequisite for not only becoming YWAM staff, but also for YWAM’s second-level training schools.
It consists of two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase.
In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His world, not only from lectures but also from community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.
LECTURE PHASE
Our base is situated, right at one of the beautiful beaches of Southern Norway, popular for all-year-round water activities. During lecture phase, you will have time to explore the beautiful nature Norway has to offer. You can find the well known Pulpit Rock just an hour drive away. 10 amazing weeks of Bible based teaching will help you grow in Christ and become grounded in the foundations of our faith!
Each week will cover a specific topic such as Prayer, Justice and Mercy, Missions, The Bible, Father-Heart of God, Relationships, etc. and each subject will be taught by wonderful teachers from Norway and around the world. Our teachers vary from year to year, but each one will invest in you and inspire you through their lifestyle, faith and wisdom.
What’s unique about the Reach DTS is throughout the lecture phase you will be put through simulated injustice as well as be trained for outreach beyond that which is found on a typical DTS. This namely includes practical first aid and basic primary healthcare.
Outreach
Outreach for the Reach DTS is much less about “where” and much more about “who”. We are compelled by love to go to those who are groaning for compassion, to be seen and loved. To go to those who live in poverty, lack and injustice. To the last we will send pioneers. To the least we will send humanitarians. To the lost we will send revivalists. This will be a rugged, challenging and life-changing journey where you can expect the unexpected. Wherever we end up, we will live with the locals we are reaching out to, learn their culture, eat what they eat, and meet them where they’re at.
Outreach activities will vary, but have previously consisted on working in slums and refugee camps, orphanages and children’s ministries, church planting as well as practical work.
Wherever we go, and whatever we do, we know that God is leading us and we’re ready to “Go!” and do all that He asks.

* Guidelines for the discount
- The limit for the maximum discount you can reach is the amount of outreach travel fees.
- The discount is only valid when the person you recruited is accepted by the school leaders and actually shows up to take the school.
- Make sure that the person you recruited fills in your name, together with a short explanation of the recruiting process on the application form at the following question: “How did you hear about our DTS?”** Price includes all costs for teachings, meals, accommodation and travel expenses during the school (23 weeks). Not included are expenses for the travel to and from the DTS and potential expenses for visas, vaccinations and items for private use (e.g. toiletries).
This DTS is a University of the Nations registered course. The UofN is part of Youth with a Mission. A successfully completed DTS is a prerequisite to all other UofN training schools, degree programs and to work long term with YWAM.
