island of a thousand languages
Do you know that there is an Island that is known to have numerous groups of unconnected people? An island where there are many undiscovered species of plants and animals? Does the word expedition thrill you? Then get ready for this place is one of the world's least explored, culturally and geographically!
New Guinea is the world’s second largest island after Greenland, and is located in the South West Pacific region, north of Australia, and is divided among two countries: Papua New Guinea to the east, and Indonesia to the west.
In this place there are many tribes and during outreach you will live with them at the very heart of the jungle for 3 months. You will become one of them and live a simple lifestyle, eating what they eat and doing what they do in order to show the love God has for them. You'll be amazed by the great joy of simplicity and the friends for life you'll make! Your purpose is to teach the Bible and disciple both young and old for the kingdom of God while possibly working with long term missionaries. From time to time you'll also go on expeditions to other tribes not yet reached, and join in with the thousands of people praying for this island and their people.
Our vision is to disciple this nation, to see the last and the least people groups of this world receive the gospel and the Bible in a language that they can understand. Do you want to be a part of seeing the great commission fulfilled in our day? Then come! Join what God is doing in one of the farthest corners of the world!
