Mercy DTS

The Mercy DTS is all about engaging and expressing God´s heart of loving kindness to the lost people in the world!

James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

As we go we will REJOICE IN MERCY- to worship JESUS will be a big part of our focus!

The Lecture Phase starts on September 21st, 2017 at 17:00 and will finish on December 15th, 2017 at 13:00. There will be a break for Christmas vacation between lecture and outreach phase. What is DTS?

The Discipleship Training School (YWAM DTS) seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.

The course is a full-time program that lasts five to nine months and is the prerequisite for not only becoming YWAM staff, but also for YWAM’s second-level training schools.

It consists of two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase.

In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His world, not only from lectures but also from community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.

LECTURE PHASE

The newest of our programs begins at our training center at Sola, in the south west of Norway where living conditions are simple and “koselig”, as we say here.12 amazing weeks of Bible based teaching will help you grow in Christ and become grounded in the foundations of our faith!

Each week will cover a specific topic such as Prayer, Justices and Mercy, Missions, The Bible, Father-heart of God, Relationships, etc. and each subject will be taught by wonderful teachers from Norway and around the world. Our teachers vary from year to year, but each one will invest in you and inspire you through their lifestyle, faith and wisdom.

Outreach

After twelve weeks in Sola the school will go on an outreach focused towards the refugees in Europe to respond to the crisis we are experiencing in this day and age.

In our neighborhood there are more than 500-1000 refugees so you also will get the chance to reach out to people in Norway during the school and put all of your training into practice both while doing ministry in Norway and the nations.

We are not people who simply hear; we are people who hear the Word and then do what it says! (James 1:22)

Outreach activities will vary but have previously consisted on working in slums and refugee camps, orphanages and children’s ministries, church planting as well as practical work, etc.

Wherever we go, and whatever we do, we know that God is leading us and we’re ready to “Go!” and do all that He asks.

*This DTS is a University of the Nations registered course. The UofN is part of Youth with a Mission. A successfully completed DTS is a prerequisite to all other UofN training schools, degree programs and to work long term with YWAM.
